About Wilson's Welding

Over 25 years experience in Custom Fabrication, Maintenance Repair, Consulting, and Instruction

I became interested in welding at 13 years of age growing up on the farm where there was always a need to repair equipment and fabricate custom projects.  Since that moment in time, shop classes through school was my main interest and learning all I could about welding processes, materials, techniques, etc. was where my attention was focused. Having experience as an in-house weld trainer for a large manufacturing company after graduating high school and custom work through my business which orginated in 1988, a position opened at the local technical school.  Since 1992 to present I have been employed by Hannibal Career and Technical Center, located in Hannibal, MO as the Welding Technology instructor for both adult and high school students.

Workshops through Lincoln Electric, Miller, Thermal Arc, Victor, Smith Equipment, Messer Industries, Certanium Alloys, Tulsa Welding School, Hobart Institute of Welding Technology are just to name a few that have helped get me where I am today.

Throughout the Fall, Winter and Spring months, I offer adult welding classes that are customized to each individuals needs wheather for hobby, manufacturing jobs or pipe welding opprtunities.   After school hours, weekends and when school is not in session is devoted to my welding business.  Retirement from the school is quickly coming and I plan to continue my business on a full time basis.  The challenge that welding presents and providing the highest quality workmanship is what I enjoy about this trade.

Various awards and specialized training I've received include; American Welding Society for: 2011-2012 Section Educator, Private Sector Instructor and District Director Certificate Award for Mississippi Valley Section District 14. Teacher of the Year at Hannibal Career & Technical Center 2008. participated in  the AWS Instructor's Institute in Miami, FL 2007 and The Ocean Corporation Underwater Welding & NDT training seminar in 2005, which included actual time welding and cutting underwater.

Welding Instructor for John Wood Community College welding program from 1998-2007.

Certified welder and educator through the American Welding Society and an active board member for the Mississippi Valley Chapter of Section District 14. I continue to stay very active in both organizations to ensure current and up to date knowledge with the constant changes in today's welding needs and technology.

As the opportunities arise, I do attend seminars and workshops. With the experience from workshops and owning and operating my own welding business the challenges have been endless and all successful.
